This means that they can be part of one sub-division of their choice and be able to do the Ladder Certification, Rescue Certification along with Primary Care Paramedic Certification.
Dedicated probationary volunteer firefighters may get promoted to Volunteer Firefighter which is equivalent to Firefighter II. Volunteers that show extreme dedication are promoted to Senior Volunteer Firefighter which is equivalent to Firefighter III. This means that they can complete all of the available certifications in the department including Rapid Response Certification.
"I have recently been enrolled as a Volunteer Firefighter for the San Andreas Fire Department. I ask myself the question “why do I enjoy it?” Volunteering for SAFD gives you that sense of community help through a different scope of life. My current employment is within the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office as the Duty Major. Working alongside SAFD gives the opportunity for the departments to link and evolve a new era of local aid. I enjoy what I do because it means I can help those who need it most."
