The first South African Earth Engine workshop will be an opportunity for South African students, academics and practitioners working on, or hoping to work on Earth Engine projects to learn about the platform, network with the South African Earth Engine community, and enjoy direct access to the Earth Engine team. The training is co-organized by the Google Earth Outreach team, SAEON, the CSIR, Rhodes University and Stellenbosch University.
Sign-up Process: To ensure an effective hands-on experience, we will restrict the workshop to 50 participants. Interested candidates will need to apply to attend the workshop by Saturday, 4 May. We will notify participants of acceptance before Friday, 17 May.
Cost: Attendance is free. Accepted participants will be responsible for travel and lodging expenses (if necessary).
Who should attend? The workshop is intended for students, GIS specialists, remote sensing specialists, academics, practitioners and others working on projects using Google Earth Engine.
Important Details: The workshop will take place at Stellenbosch University on 25 (Beginners) and 26 (Less beginner to advanced) June 2019.
