About Me

Hello and Welcome to my Webpage.

I completed my Ph.D. in 2017 in Statistics from National College of Business Administration and Economics (NCBA&E) Lahore, under the joint supervision of Prof. Dr.  Muhammad Hanif Mian and Prof. Dr. Sat Gupta, a Fellow of the American Statistical Association and Professor of Statistics at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, USA

I have a fairly long teaching experience including 10 years at the Lahore College for Women University in Lahore, Pakistan, and about two years at UNC Greensboro USA. During this time, I have taught both undergraduate and graduate courses. Some of my classes have been large with (50-100) students and some have been small with (10-25) students. I have taught online courses also. I have offered independent studies also to PhD students which I found very satisfying because these independent studies included both a teaching and a research component.

I am very passionate about teaching. Statisticians can make a lot more money by working in the industry. Having experienced both the private sector jobs as a Statistician at the beginning of my career, and teaching jobs over the past 12 years, I will never trade my teaching job with the industry job. Being able to make some contribution, howsoever small, in shaping the next generation is highly satisfying.

My research area is Sampling with particularly greater focus on Randomized Response Models.  I am looking forward to using the RRT models in some real survey situations in Pakistan to find out the prevalence of various undesirable issues such as drug use by High School/College students and abuse of female students by acquaintances.
