Ankita is pursuing her Ph.D with our group. She did her bachelor's degree in Botany from Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT), Bhubaneswar. She completed her Masters in Biotechnology from Siksha O Anusandhan University, Bhubaneswar. She is studying the role of long noncoding RNAs in diabetic vascular complications. Her hobbies are listening to music and travelling.
Samprita is a Ph.D student in IISER Mohali. She has completed her Bachelor's degree in Zoology from Gurudas College, Calcutta University and Master's degree in Life Sciences from National Institute of Technology, Durgapur. She is interested in Epigenetic Regulation of Gene Expression and its Inheritance. Her other interests include learning new things, cooking, reading novels, binge watching, listening to music etc.
Kanika is a Project Assistant working with our group. She is interested in lncRNAs involved in vascular diseases. She is passionate as well as enthusiastic about learning new skills constantly and growing into a more disciplined, curious and a focused researcher. Apart from being an avid admirer of nature, she also likes to enjoy her time baking, exercising and reading.
Soumyodeep is a doctoral candidate with the CSIR-UGC Junior Research Fellowship. He earned his BS-MS dual degree from IISER Kolkata. He's focused on investigating how emerging epigenetic factors like lncRNAs are influenced by environmental exposure, lifestyle, and past experiences, potentially impacting gene expression and contributing to chronic diseases. He aspires to delve into the roles of lncRNAs in inflammatory disease phenotypes to advance novel therapeutic approaches. He also sees the potential for lncRNAs to serve as vital biomarkers in the onset and progression of neurological disorders and thus crucial for disease management. Apart from academics, he unwinds with novels, and nurtures a passion for football, anime, and traveling.
Khushi is a 4th year BS-MS student. She is interested in chromatin dynamics and the intricacies of various genetic modifications. She wishes to investigate the modifications in epigenetic landscape in case of various disorders which play a major role in development and maintainance of the disorder. Besides academics, she also enjoys various artforms like dance and painting.
Abin is a final-year BS-MS student at IISER Mohali. He is primarily interested in exploring the molecular basis of cardiovascular diseases. Currently, he is doing his MS thesis at the DVC lab, where he is investigating the role of lncRNA in diabetic wound healing. Apart from cardiovascular research, he is also interested in microbial processes and technology, especially their application in food and other essential sectors. He finds joy in a variety of activities outside the lab, including traveling, football, listening to music, and watching movies.
Saijal is doing her Ph.D with our team. She has done her masters in Zoology from Jammu university. She is interested in studying the role of epigenetics in various diseases and its potential in real world applications. She is a national level skater and fencer, she finds baking therapeutic and also like journaling and at times she enjoys poetry.
Deepika is a Ph.D student at IISER Mohali. She did her masters from Central University of Himachal Pradesh, Kangra. She is interested in Epigentic mechanisms involved in metabolic disorders. She is intersted in music, travelling, and cricket.
Anamika is a final-year BS-MS student at IISER Mohali, currently pursuing her MS thesis in the DVC lab. Her research focuses on studying the role of NETosis in diabetic conditions, reflecting her broader interest in the immunological aspects of diabetes and its complications. Beyond her thesis, she is deeply fascinated by microbiology and infectious diseases, particularly the virulence strategies of pathogens like Mycobacterium, Plasmodium etc. She aspires to contribute to understanding how immune responses intersect with metabolic and infectious diseases. Outside the lab, Anamika enjoys immersing herself in fantasy and fiction novels, writing stories, exploring new trails on a cycle, and experimenting in the kitchen whenever inspiration strikes.
