Parent/Student Handbook 2024 – 2025
Purpose of Religious Education Program
· Promoting knowledge of the faith
· Liturgical education
· Moral formation
· Teaching to pray
· Education for community life
Communication
· All messages and communication will be sent through email.
· Teachers can be reached through their email address which are posted on the Religious Education Website.
Students Assignments/Grades
· Teachers will post an assignment along with class work that is to be completed for the week.
· Students are expected to complete all work that is posted. Failure to complete assigned work can affect promotion.
· Students will receive a numerical grade for each assignment, which must be passed with a 70% or better.
· Teachers will post work on Sundays when “class” is being held.
Students Assignments/Grades (continued)
· Student work must be handed in by 4PM on the following Saturday in order for attendance to be marked as “present” for the week.
Absences
· Allowed 3 absences for the year.
· Students will receive credit for attendance for the week if the assigned work is completed and turned in to the teacher.
Books and Supplies
· Each student is given books and supplies as needed. If a book is lost, it can be replaced for $25.00.
Sacraments
· A sacrament can never be denied, but can be delayed if it is determined that the child is not ready. Some of the items would include: non-participation in the faith (not attending Holy Mass and poor knowledge due to the lack of preparedness).
