Parent/Student Handbook 2025 – 2026
Purpose of Religious Education Program
· Promoting knowledge of the faith
· Liturgical education
· Moral formation
· Teaching to pray
· Education for community life
Communication
· Messages and communication will be sent through email.
· Teachers can be reached through their email address which are posted on the Religious Education website.
· In person students are asked to be picked up at the classroom after each session for 2nd and 8th grade students. This will ensure students safety and security, and to allow for teacher/parent communication on a regular basis.
Students Assignments/Grades
· Students will have weekly assignments.
· Students will be responsible to complete assignments if they are absent from class.
· Students will receive a numerical grade for each assignment, which must be passed with a 70% or better.
Absences
· Allowed 3 absences for the year.
Books and Supplies
· Each student is given books and supplies as needed. If a book is lost, it can be replaced for $25.00.
Inclement Weather
· In the event of inclement weather, there will be no CCD if Bethlehem Area Schools have been cancelled or have early dismissal.
Sacraments
· A sacrament can never be denied, but can be delayed if it is determined that the child is not ready. Some of the items would include: non-participation in the faith (not attending Holy Mass and poor knowledge due to the lack of preparedness).
