Reconciliation & Mass Clarifications May 2021

Didn't my child "do" Reconciliation in March 2020?

Yes, but that was her/his FIRST RECONCILIATION only. We are human; we sin all of the time, remember? EVERY TIME we sin, we need to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Your child will need to do this 'directly' before receiving the Sacraments of First Communion and/or Confirmation, so that her/his heart is clean and ready!

When will Reconciliation "directly before" be?

We aren't sure! We have not had time to iron out all plans yet. This website will be updated as soon as the prep team knows AND you will obviously be contacted other ways, too!

Will my child need to go to confession if s/he is solely celebrating Confirmation and not First Communion?

Please review the information in the first paragraph.

Info regarding masses on May 4 & 6

  • You will attend one of the masses

  • Both the Sacrament of First Eucharist AND the Sacrament of Confirmation will be celebrated for those who have attended prep classes (for both or just for Confirmation - if your child did not attend First Communion classes, s/he can still certainly celebrate Confirmation)

  • Both masses will be @ 6:30 and both will be held at St. Dominic Parish.

  • You will need to arrive by about 6:10

  • A FAIR registration process will be put in place for choosing a date; watch for further info!

  • Your child's sponsor does not have to be present at mass to be the sponsor - this info is already available to you - please check the home page

  • Mass dates are subject to change if only enough children register that we would only have one mass

  • The number of 'guests' (anyone other than your child) will depend on the number of children participating; we cannot predict this number now. We will follow our Bishop's covid guidelines, regardless.
