Mother of three

Mentor to many (many, many)
I began my studies at St. Philips (Medical Technology Program) and became a work study for the Biology Department. I heard about and then transferred to the Pneudraulics Program at Palo Alto College. This program was a coordinated effort to educate workers for the aircraft maintenance at Kelly AF Base. I worked at Kelly AFB, as a F-15/F-16 jet fighter maintenance mechanic, for 8 years until I was laid off in the third phase of the Reduction-in-Force.
About this time I learned that the San Antonio College Biology Department was looking for a full-time Laboratory Tech. My experience as a work study assistant at St. Philips prepared me for this job. I began working in the Biology Department at SAC in November 1994. I had a brief three month break in service in 1999, but quickly realized how much I missed being a Laboratory Tech. I reapplied for my old position and have been at SAC ever since. This year marked my twenty-fifth year (minus three months) working for SAC Biology. I love SCIENCE!!
