Lina moved to a new house with her parents. The house was big and old. There were five rooms, but one door was always locked.

“Don’t go into that room,” her mother said.
“Why not?” Lina asked.
“It’s not safe,” her father answered.

Every night, Lina heard strange sounds — like whispers and footsteps. One night, she woke up and saw the locked door was open.

Lina walked slowly to the room. It was dark and cold inside. She saw an old mirror on the wall. Suddenly, the mirror moved. A face appeared. It looked like her—but with black eyes.

The face whispered, “Come in…”

Lina screamed and ran to her parents’ room. In the morning, the door was locked again.

No one believed her. But Lina never went near that room again.
