Open Positions:
Currently looking for motivated Masters (M.Tech, MS(R)) and B.Tech. students (for BTP and SURA projects and otherwise) interested in working on problems in multiscale computational modelling of inelastic behaviour of metals and alloys.
The projects involve understanding plastic behaviour and damage such as creep and fatigue of advanced metallic materials.
We use computational models at various length and time scales. These include large scale Crystal Plasticity Finite Element Method (CPFEM) as well as microscale model such as Molecular Dynamics (MD) and Dislocation Dynamics (DD).
We also work on constitutive material model discovery using data driven methods such as Artificial Neural Network (ANN), Physics Informed Neural Network (PINN) and Variational Bayesian (VB).
Students satisfying one or more of the following will be preferred:
Prior experience in programming in C++/Matlab/Python.
Good foundation in Solid Mechanics and Numerical Methods.
Willingness to learn fast in case you don't satisfy the above.
If you are interested in working in our group, please mail me at sabyasachi@am.iitd.ac.in, mentioning the topic you would like to work on. Following that, we will schedule a meeting to discuss more. If possible, share your CV in the mail.
