For my project i decided to go with Phishing Scams, here are my articles of choice
This article explains a popular form of phishing scams which is sending messages to people with clickable links that lead to your data and private information like your banking and private accounts. In this article it talks about how Moroccan people have been targeted more as of late by these scams, The messages use professional dialogue, the correct bank title, manipulative wording, and very accurate looking links. They interview a cybersecurity specialist Samira Haddad, she explains that those messages that state messages that say they require "Immediate payment required" or "Penalty" are scams. She also talks about how these messages also always have something noticeable about them that should tip people off about the scam. We all should inspect every text or important email we receive, look for special clues or typos in anything that trys to pressure us into paying any fee. Don't be afraid to contact your bank and ask if the message is actually from the bank.

This article explains an incident with the website called Booking.com, which is described as on the website as "a global giant that handles everything from boutique hotel stays to cross country car rentals." the website goes on to explain that hackers had breached the system, which exposed a lot of personal data and people were rightfully angry. Even though they told their customers that "their financial information was not accessed" which means their credit card information wasn't exposed. During interviews a spokesperson for the company told the guardian had "Noticed some suspicious activity involving unauthorized third parties being able to access some of our guests' booking information." full names, email addresses, physical addresses, phone numbers, specific booking details and the dates, and any extra notes and or request shared directly with the hotels were the kind of information that was stolen during the hack. The article tells people they need to avoid clicking unexpected links about their booking, don't share payment details through email or SMS, or messaging apps. They also tell their clients to only log in through the confirmed booking.com website and to stay on high alert for messages that create urgency around the reservation.
