My project is going to be diving into why people are on social media so much and what they do with it.
My opinion on social media is that it isn't fully bad. It's something complex and something that can be use for the good and the bad. People can become very addicted to social media but that's something we can't entirely blame on social media, we find comfort in social media and discover things we enjoy. But we also allow ourselves to be to deeply attached to social media to much and allow it to control our life's. Social media is something we need to use and not abuse.
The lesson i learned is that Even though im not addicted to social media, people both young and old get attached to social media. It can be a very creative outlet but it can also make it harder to be, so it's all about how you handle things. Don't allow yourself to be sweeped up in the internet and allow yourself to enjoy other hobbies and subjects.
I took the "Am I ADDICTED To Social Media?" and it says that I'm not addicted to social media, which makes sense, I am not really on social media that much and I'm not super worried about it. Sometimes I'll doom scroll online and but only when I'm extremely bored.
This static shows a fascinating trend between the age gaps between the users from different apps and it shows us how many are likely to use the app and which app the data comes from. I find it very interesting that barely anyone over the age of 60 barely uses twitter, Snapchat, Instagram etc. but uses YouTube quiet a lot. I chose this static because it shows that it's not just people younger then 25 using social media. It helps me prove my point that social media isn't that addictive if you know how to handle it properly.
