Isaiah Duckworth, a senior at Carbondale Community High School, works on a 3D structure in the lab of mechanical engineering Assistant Professor Sabrina Nilufar at SIUC as part of a cooperative education program giving high school students college-level, hands-on experiences. They have produced several sandwich structures each with a different geometric construction and will test the stress load to discover the impact of variations in design.
A summer workshop for middle school students has been organized as part of the NSF ERI grant in the Summer of 2022.
Mid Lab participated in the 2024 Engineering Open House.
