Ryuta Arai is studying the structures and physical properties of tectonic plates and their relationship with various geodynamic processes using both active and passive seismic data. His research interests focus on seismogenic, volcanic and hydrogeological phenomena in subduction zones and spreading centers worldwide. Ryuta Arai has been working at JAMSTEC since 2014 and is currently a senior researcher in Marine Seismology Research Group, Subduction Dynamics Research Center, Research Institute for Marine Geodynamics at JAMSTEC.
