Performance Resources
Encourage your kids to get involved!
Research shows that teens who are involved with extra curricular activities are less likely to mental health. Singing specifically lowers the stress hormone (cortisol) and gives singers a frequent feeling or reward (dopamine). Singing with others builds a deep connection through the release of oxytocin. In addition, music teaches us to use both the left and right sides of our brains simultaneously- requiring us to think critically in concrete systems while expressing emotions through creativity.
Here are some opportunities to sing outside of the school day-
All-State Choir auditions- 9th Grade, 10th-12th grade
POP A Cappella auditions (August)
Chaperoning Events
Driving students to events outside of the school day.
Assisting with ticket sales and concessions for our concerts.
Coordinating decorations for special events.
Donating food for concessions and the choir banquet.
Sharing photos and videos from choir performances
Grant writing for large items needed by our program.
Donating classroom items found on our amazon wish list
And any other way that you may specialize or feel drawn to help.
