While there are many attractions to experience in the area, here are a few that are only a short distance from the cabin
Eagle Cliff :
Cross over Big Moose Rd and you are at the trailhead for Eagle Cliff. Eagle Cliff is a short hike with great views. From the cabin door to the top of the mountain takes about 25 minutes. As a result of its close proximity to the cabin, this is a great place to drink your morning coffee or have a cocktail at sunset.
TOBIE Trail:
The "Mac Shack" is located directly on the TOBIE Trail. The TOBIE Trail is a series of trails that connects Thendara, Old Forge, Big Moose, Inlet and Eagle Bay. These series of trails are great for hiking and/or biking. Below are the signs located at the end of the cabin's driveway which mark the distances to some of the popular destinations along the trails.
