I needed an area where I could store my 3D printers/3D printer related items, so I built this 3D printing work station. It uses 3D printed brackets to hold the legs onto the table, and has a filament storage rack underneath. I also designed a handful of other useful things to mount on the table, which I detail below. I installed a long dowel on the front of the table, which allows me to hang stuff onto the table like my drills and heat gun. It also acts as a mounting point for a small storage box, which holds glue, tweezers, and other 3D printer accessories. I like this dowel system because it allows me to easily add more storage to the work station by just printing another storage box to mount to the desk as the need arises.
Power Strip Mount
I needed more outlets for the 3D printing station, so I designed this to mount power strips onto the legs of the table.
Filament Storage Rack
I designed this storage rack to hold my 3D printer filament. The blue parts are 3D printed out of ABS, and screw into the table. They are modeled to fit a 1.25" dowel, which is what the filament rests on. The rack holds up to 14 spools of filament, and leaves a gap at the top for easy removal of the filament spools.
Front Mounting Rack
This mount allows me to attach a dowel on the front of the desk I can hang stuff from. I want to highlight the orange bucket near the back. This is part of a modular system I designed for 1.25" dowels, which allows me to hang buckets from the dowel. I can model buckets of any size, with custom pockets and other mounting mechanisms, and use the universal mounting hook to attach them to the desk.
