My name is Ryan Klug, and I have just graduated as a 5th year senior from Wake Early College of Health and Science. I have completed my high school diploma, Associates of Science, and Associates of Arts from Wake Technical Community College.
I am a passionate scientist, attending North Carolina State University starting Fall 2019 in the First Year Life Sciences Program with a Biochemistry intent. Because of the Associates, I will be starting in Organic Chemistry II and Calculus III, and will very quickly be diving into major related courses. I also have extensive lab experience (more in Extracurricular).
Outside of time spent on (mainly science) class, my time is mostly split between art and reading. With a deep passion for the hard sciences, I need time to unwind and be more artistic, so my favorite books are all spectacular fantasy novels full of magic and adventure. My art is even more varied, currently focusing on body movement and shape, but typically whatever strikes me as interesting to create. Within art, I mostly sketch or paint, either acrylic or watercolor, though I sometimes do mixed media.
Throughout high school, I have maintained at least A-B honor roll, and at Wake Tech a minimum of Deans list.
I love to make people smile, and I more than know that sometimes people don't nearly enough. To help solve the problem, I text a silly joke to a number of friends every other day. This makes sure they have a little something to smile about, but it also helps keep a flow of communication with friends I rarely get a chance to see anymore because of different schools. Often, the jokes are very cheesy, what some people might call "bad," but that isn't a problem for me. If they laughed, even at how "bad" it is, the joke worked perfectly.
