I'm a class '23 Commerce dual degree graduate from University of Victoria (UVic) in Canada and National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU) in Taiwan. Within my international college life, I discovered my interest in marketing and design through one year co-op experience and relevant courses in school. Now I commit to gain more knowledge and techniques in the field of marketing and design.
My ultimate career goal is to identify customers' needs and to develop quality products. I want to contribute my keen observations on customer experience to the world and to gain the skills required to serve customers with impeccable products.
Looking back, I was always the kid who was curious about details and wanted to experience everything firsthand. In one of a school team project, we had to visit a grocery store to observe the customers and the display in the store. I ended up noticing more details than others, especially the image and atmosphere the store created. There was also a time when I was a kid, I wanted to prove if a slotted screwdriver could loosen a cross screw, so I did an experiment on the lock on our door, which frightened my mom that she thought we got robbed. These solidified my interest in marketing and design where I can showcase my detailed observation and life experience improvement.
I was born and raised in Taiwan. After two years of college at NSYSU, I was fortunate to have a chance to explore and study at UVic in Canada for two years. I’m so grateful that I got the chance to explore Canada at such a young age. In my time in Canada, I spent lots of time mastering my English capacity; I plucked up my courage to ask professors questions. I enjoyed the benefits and better life experience with the ability to talk to others in clear and fluent English.
My ex-manager told me that my attention to detail relieved a lot of her stress, so she could focus on other projects. I collaborated with teams both inside and outside the company smoothly, setting up clear project goals and following up. My colleagues and I had supportive connections so that we helped each other out when it’s needed. I received many kind messages on my last day at the company.
