Rotary York Ainsty: Activity & Achievement for Public Benefit (2024–25)
Rotary York Ainsty continued its commitment to supporting local and international causes, distributing £28,657 in grants and donations to nearly 50 organisations and projects.
🎅 Santa Sleigh & Community Fundraising
The Santa Float Collection raised £10,035, thanks to the support of local schools, charities, and volunteers.
£5,034 was donated to partner organisations including Vale of York Academy, Wilberforce Trust, St Leonard’s Hospice, Age UK York, York Rescue Boat, and others.
The remaining funds supported additional charitable grants.
♻️ Long-Term Projects
SpecSort raised £1,081 by recycling gold-rimmed spectacles, helping fund overseas transport and support Physionet.
Yorkits raised £4,357 to provide washable feminine hygiene kits for girls in developing countries.
Sow, Grow & Share supported Wilberforce Trust’s Sensory Gardens with a new Bird Song Stops installation, funded by a £670 District Grant and RYA support.

£2,051 reclaimed via the GASDS scheme

£3,000 transferred via our twin club in Germany to support a humanitarian project in Albania

£1,200 to Polio+ (matched 2-to-1 by the Gates Foundation, totalling £3,600)
