ABOUT US:
1991, the library collections of the Ste. Genevieve Middle School and Ste. Genevieve High School were combined. The site of this merger is the R.W. Thomas Library Media Center. The accommodating two-story structure is the junction of the high school and the middle school buildings, thereby accessible to both student bodies. The LMC serves approximately 575 middle school students and 620 high school students. In addition, it is valuable resource for the middle and high school faculty and staff.
The ground floor serves as the media center section of the library. Students and teachers have access to technology such as 3D printers, computers, and projectors; collaboration TVs, meeting rooms, makerspace materials, and video room. Floor II contains the stacks; row after row of books ready for check out. The upstairs also has the reference collection.
The library is named for Mr. Raymond W. Thomas, who served the R-II school district for 43 years, most of those years as the district superintendent. He would have been honored to have the library named for him, for above all, Mr. Thomas believed in quality student academics.
