Run with Rocky is the second option of the PTO's Donate Your Way at Rea View Fundraising Program. Run with Rocky is Rea View's biggest, most enjoyable, and most profitable fundraiser of the school year. This fundraiser is run by the experienced team at Boosterthon. All Rea View students get to participate in Run with Rocky events, including the Fun Run, regardless of financial participation. Click on the FAQs below to learn more about Run with Rocky.

What is the Run With Rocky Fundraiser?

Run with Rocky is the second donation option for Rea View families. It is Rea View's biggest, most enjoyable, and most profitable fundraiser of the school year. The PTO has also asked the experts at Boosterthon to power our Run with Rocky. By partnering with Boosterthon, Run with Rocky brings in a higher number of donations from extended family, friends, neighbors, and company matches due to the experts at Booster. Family and friends anywhere in the world can support Rea View by giving online pledges or flat donations toward the number of laps your child will run at the Fun Run. Run with Rocky has been Rea View's most successful and most profitable fundraiser ever!

Run with Rocky is a seven to eight day fundraiser typically run in late October or early November. Rea View students will participate in a Kick Off Day, Team Days, and a Fun Run. All Rea View students get to participate in the fundraiser's events and character ed program regardless of financial participation.

During Run with Rocky, students collect pledges and flat donations based on the number of laps the will run (maximum of 35 laps) at the Run with Rocky Fun Run. All pledging and donations happen on Boosterthon' website, MyBooster.com. Families can use MyBooster.com's tools to share the Run with Rocky fundraiser with relatives and friends, and look for corporate matches

Once a student begins collecting pledges and donations on MyBooster.com they will earn Boosterthon rewards. Any pledges and donations collected during the 7 to 8 Run with Rocky event days helps that student's class, grade level, and school earn Run with Rocky Challenge Rewards too.

As an added bonus, during the Team Days all Rea View students will get to participate in Booster's Character Program that incorporates, holistic student development, leadership habits, character traits, S.T.E.A.M. concepts, and fitness.

Donating to Run with Rocky is always optional. We invite families to give to the Donate Your Way at Rea View fundraisers, but the school and PTO do not expect or require donations. Moreover, families are certainly not expected to donate to both of the Donate Your Way at Rea View fundraising options. Maybe a Rea View family chooses to donate to just one of the two fundraisers, and then asks relatives, family friends, and employers/companies to participate in the other fundraiser. If a family is able to donate their contributions are undeniably appreciated, but if your family is unable to or chooses not to participate that is also unconditionally understood as well. We want families to "Donate Their Way" to Rea View’s fundraisers.

Why Did the PTO Choose to Partner With Boosterthon?

In order to make Rea View PTO's fundraising easier, more profitable, and more fun the PTO has asked the experts at Boosterthon to power our biggest fundraiser this year. Family and friends anywhere in the world can support our school by giving pledges toward the number of laps your child will run on the day of the fun run or minutes danced during the dance fit program. There are many benefits to partnering with Boosterthon, including...

EVERY STUDENT IS INCLUDED REGARDLESS OF FINANCIAL PARTICIPATION

Every student is invited to participate in the entire program, including the Kick-Off Event, Team Days, and final Fun Run or Dance Fit Event whether they are our highest pledge earner or earn no pledges or flat donations. Students will also receive a free gift regardless of financial participation.

FOCUS ON FITNESS

Whether the final event is a fun run or a dance fit, Boosterthon helps kids learn the fun of moving and fitness. Every day during the program kids are encouraged to get up and move to fun music, and the final event challenges students to run or dance to earn their pledge donations.

WORLD-CLASS S.T.E.A.M. CHARACTER PROGRAM

Every student will experience Boosterthon’s character theme program, a S.T.E.A.M. focused theme all about using character to solve problems. Each year Booster works hard to create a new theme for the character program too, and there are character videos and activities available for the teachers to use year round!

THE MOST VALUE

With other fundraisers, most schools keep between 40-50% of the profits. But Rea View Elementary will receive 56-58% of the profits with Boosterthon’s  Full Service Option. In addition, with the way Boosterthon promotes their fundraising program only 40% of the funds raised through Rea View's Boosterthon fundraisers have come from Rea View families. The other 60% of funds are donated by extended family, businesses, and friends.

MINIMAL NUMBER OF PARENT VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED FROM REA VIEW

This fundraiser is coordinated by an experienced team from Boosterthon. This awesome team supports the PTO in preparation for the fundraiser, and are solely focused on our school during the fundraiser’s Kick-Off and Final Event days. This year with the Support Service Option Rea View has chosen, a minimal number of parent volunteers will be needed in the pre-planning and Team Days.

NO INTERRUPTION TO CLASSROOM INSTRUCTION

The team at Boosterthon and parent volunteers work very hard to ensure student learning is not interrupted during the school day.

STUDENTS AND TEACHERS LOVE THE PROGRAM

As we all know, today's school schedule doesn't allow for a lot of fun. However, for the duration of our Boosterthon fundraiser, the Booster team helps to bring some fun to school and brighten our kids' and teachers' day!

FLEXIBLE PROGRAMMING

When times get tough, Boosterthon is there to support schools. For example, during the COVID-19 Pandemic, Boosterthon stepped up to offer schools three fundraising program options. Schools could choose from an all virtual fundraiser, a hybrid model with some activities being virtual and others on campus, or an all on campus fundraiser. Schools even were given options for the final event, such as a fun run or dance fit event.

LESS HASSLE & MORE PROFIT

To get the most out of our fundraiser, we’re using Booster’s smart pledging technology—funrun.com—which helps us raise and collect far more. Plus, their amazing team coordinates all the details and logistics, allowing the school to better focus on education. In just the first three years Rea View partnered with Boosterthon, we received over $98,000 in profit, which has allowed the PTO to replace all of Rea View’s interactive smart boards, provide three large shades on the playgrounds, install hygienic water bottle filling stations, and provide teachers with classroom and instructional supplies.

During these team huddles students will participate in fitness activities, the character education program, get updates on the progress of the fundraiser, and learn about the night's challenge. During this time students will also receive rewards from Nightly Challenges and the School-Wide Challenges.

THE FUN RUN
The Fun Run is a fun and exciting experience for all of our Red Wolves! The Booster Team arrives early on the day of the fun run to set up tunnels, tents, and tracks for the students to run through, and they also stay after the Fun Run is over to do all of the clean-up too. The Booster team provides a sound system, energetic DJs, and great team to encourage the students while they run. Red Wolves are asked to bring a labeled water bottle to stay hydrated during the run. Water will provided to the students who forget to bring their own water bottle. Parents are welcome to attend the Fun Runs to cheer on their Red Wolf.

IF LAPS ARE CHOSEN, thirty laps is the maximum number of laps a student can run at the Fun Run. The number of laps run will determine the amount of pledges a student can collect from each of their donors. After the Fun Run is over, the Booster Team will enter the number of laps each student runs into MyBooster.com. Then, the website will send out notifications to the donors.

BOOSTERTHON'S CHARACTER PROGRAM
During the Run with Rocky Team Team Days, Rea View's students will participate in Booster's Character Development Program With this program your child will be active and build character by watching mini-documentaries with REAL kids who live with character and incorporate holistic student development, leadership habits, character traits, S.T.E.A.M. concepts, and fitness. Students will watch mini-documentaries with REAL kids who live with character. The videos feature diverse students with a range of abilities. These character videos also have the unique ability to engage older students as well as younger ones.

In addition, schools loved Booster's character themes so much they developed a free year-long version of the character ed program for schools. Rea View teachers will be able to access 100+ short but meaningful video lessons on-demand throughout the whole school year for brain breaks, teaching moments, and to energize students.

To see some of these great character videos click here.

Does Run with Rocky Interrupt Student Learning?

The school's administrators and the Boosterthon team work very hard to schedule events and activities so there is minimal interruption to the instructional day. In fact, when it is not time for a gradel level huddle, you will often find the Boosterthon team helping out in the school by reading to classes, joining students for work, filing papers for teachers, at recess, or shelving books in the Media Center.

The Kick Off Celebration's take about 30 minutes of the first day of the fundraiser.

During the Team Days, students are in grade level huddles for the last 10 minutes of each special.

If a class or the whole school wins a challenge, then most rewards occur at recess, during transition times, or at lunch.

When student's earn Boosterthon prizes from collecting pledges and donations, the prizes are placed in a bag and hung on the teacher's door so he or she can pass them out when it is most convenient for their schedule.

For the Fun Run, each grade level will be outside for about 45 minutes of the school day.

What is "SHARING IS SUPPORTING?"

By Sharing Run with Rocky with Others, You are Supporting Rea View!

During Rea View's four previous Run with Rocky Fundraisers, the majority of the donations, at least 60%, were given by extended family,  friends, neighbors, and parent's companies. Rea View's parents and guardians only contributed 40% of Run with Rocky donations.

We are asking all parents to register their children on MyBooster.com to share Run with Rocky fundraiser information with extended, family, friends, neighbors, and the companies you work for. MyBooster.com will provide Rea View families with all the resources needed to share fundraising information, including a shareable and personalized pledging/donation student web page, email templates, text messages,  social media posts,  and a video you can customize for your child.

The PTO understands if your family is not able to participate financially to our fundraisers. We also do not expect families to give to both of Rea View's fundraisers, and truly appreciate the families who chose to give to Rea View's Direct Give Campaign earlier this school year.

Don't forget that all Rea View students, regardless of financial participation, will get to participate in all of Run with Rocky's events, the Character Ed Program, any Nightly Challenges their class wins, and the Fun Run.

How Do I Register My Rea View Student for Run with Rocky?

Student Registration typically opens two weeks prior to the Kick Off Day. Parents can help their child(ren) register on Booster's pledging/donation website by visiting and creating a user account on MyBooster.com.  Registration will remain open on MyBooster.com throughout the entire fundraiser.

Donations are not required for student registration. Even if you do not plan to donate to Run with Rocky, the school would greatly appreciate if parents would still register their child(ren) on MyBooster.com and share the the fundraiser with family or friends. Traditionally, 60% or more of Run Rocky's donations come not from our families, but from friends, relatives, and company matches, which is what makes this fundraiser such a success for Rea View!

The PTO understands if your family is not able to participate financially in our fundraisers. We also do not expect families to give to both of Rea View's fundraisers, and truly appreciate the families who choose to give to Rea View's Direct Give Campaign earlier this school year.

When registration on MyBooster.com begins two weeks before the Kick Off Day, donors will be able to start giving on that day due to the set-up of the website. However, the PTO will not be asking for pledges or donations until the Kick Off Day. Giving to fundraisers is always optional at Rea View.

How Do Students Collect Pledges & Donations for Run with Rocky?

Students should not go door-to-door to collect pledges or donations. All donations and company matches are collected online through Boosterthon's website, MyBooster.com. On the website, Boosterthon has tools to help you and your child share Run with Rocky with your relatives and friends via email, text, and social media.

Donations can be given in four ways, either as a pledge, a flat donation, a business donation, or a company match...

As an additional way to help the PTO keep more of the donations, donors can choose to pay the credit card transaction fee in place of the PTO when they are completing the donation process on MyBooster.com.

For more information, about the difference between a business donation and a company match, please see the "Does Run with Rocky Accept Company Matches & Business Donations?" section below.

Does Run with Rocky Accept Business Donations and/or Corporate Matching?

Yes, we accept both donations directly from businesses and corporate matches for Run with Rocky.

BUSINESS DONATIONS

Businesses can make pledges and/or give donations. If a business chooses to donate to Run with Rocky directly through MyBooster.com, that business will show up on Rea View's MyBooster.com Business Leaderboard. These donations are different from company matches and are included in the total raised stats. Rea View does not receive 100% of these donations, and they are allocated in the same way as all regular pledges and donations.

CORPORATE MATCHES

A corporate match is when a company agrees to match an employee's donation. With Boosterthon's Corporate Matching Program, Rea View receives 100% of all company matches. After a donor gives a pledge or flat donation on MyBooster.com, the donor will be given the opportunity to search for their company to see if that corporation does company matching. If there is a company match, the donor will need to follow their company's procedures for submitting the match. During the fundraiser you might notice company matches are labeled as eligible and are not included in the total raised stats. These possible donations are labeled as eligible because company matches are not guaranteed donations. Some companies have a minimum donation requirement that the donor's pledge/donation did not meet, or as mentioned above, in order for Rea View to receive a corporate match the donors must complete the entire company matching process through their company's procedures and it is not finalized through MyBooster.com. Neither the PTO nor Booster can complete the company matches for the donors.

Rea View & the PTO are grateful for anyway a donor and/or business chooses to donate to Run With Rocky.

Are Donations to Run with Rocky Tax Deductible?

Rea View PTO is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt non-profit organization. All donations made to Run with Rocky are tax deductible. Our official name is Rea View Elementary PTO and our organization's EIN number is 83-1550322.

Are Parents Expected To Volunteer for Run with Rocky?

No, parents and guardians will not need to volunteer to help with Run with Rocky. The Boosterthon Team will do the majority of the planning and work for Run with Rocky. The PTO's Fundraising Coordinator will be the liaison between Boosterthon, school administrators, and the PTO Board, and help as needed. PTO Board Members and the Fundraising Coordinator will help pass out water at the Fun Run.

Minimal participation is needed from Rea View parents and guardians to make Run with Rocky a Success. Parents and guardians should help their child(ren) register on MyBooster.com, assist their child with briefly editing their personal pledging/donation web page, and also help their child(ren) share their personal web page with friends, families, and neighbors, and the companies you work for (i.e. company matches).  Rea View families can choose to give to the Run with Rocky fundraiser as well. Parents and guardians may also attend the Fun Run (weather permitting) to cheer on their Red Wolves.
