The Rea View PTO was established to support Rea View Elementary School. The PTO does not live to fundraise, but it does fundraise for the school to live. Therefore, the PTO created the Donate Your Way at Rea View Fundraising Program to provide Rea View families with a choice on how to give charitable donations, while still maintaining a profitable revenue and only requiring a minimal number of parent volunteers. Click on the FAQs below to learn more about the fundraising program.

What is the Donate Your Way at Rea View Fundraising Program?

The Rea View PTO does not live to fundraise, but we must fundraise for our school to live. Therefore, to make it easier for Rea View families, the Donate Your Way Fundraising Program was created in 2018 to offer two different options for giving donations. These options provide Rea View families with a choice on how to contribute their donation while still maintaining a profitable revenue for the school. As an added bonus, the program is designed to require only a minimal number of parent volunteers to manage the fundraisers.

Donate Your Way at Rea View Fundraising Program donations are used to help ensure students have the tools they need to learn, help teachers and school staff feel appreciated, provide enrichment activities for students and their families, and make improvements to Rea View's building and grounds.

The Direct Give Campaign is the first donation option for Rea View families, and is held in the first few weeks of school. The Direct Give Campaign gives parents the choice to donate to Rea View without any of their contribution going to an outside company and is a non-event, "no strings attached" fundraiser. This is the easiest and most straightforward fundraiser we offer because there are no door-to-door sales, no events to attend, no prizes or gimmicks, and no high pressure tactics, which makes this a truly hassle and stress free fundraiser. Donations can be given at Rea View's Open House or online. As a HUGE bonus of the Direct Give Campaign, none of the campaign contributions will go to another fundraising company, and all funds raised stay at Rea View!

Run with Rocky is the second donation option for Rea View families. In order to make Rea View's fundraising easier, more profitable, and more fun, the PTO has also asked the experts at Booster to power our Run with Rocky fundraiser. Run with Rocky brings in a higher number of donations from extended family, friends, neighbors, and company matches due to the experts at Booster. Family and friends anywhere in the world can support Rea View by giving online pledges or flat donations toward the number of laps your child will run at the Fun Run. Run with Rocky occurs in late October and/or early November. Run with Rocky has been Rea View's most successful and most profitable fundraiser!

The school and the PTO want families to be able to "Donate Their Way" at Rea View Elementary.

Has the Donate Your Way at Rea View Fundraising Program Been Successful?

Yes, the PTO's Donate Your Way at Rea View Fundraising Program has brought in the most profit for Rea View, while also using a minimal number of parent volunteers. The graph below illustrates fundraising totals when a large committee of PTO volunteers managed Rea View's Fundraisers (2015-2018) compared to when the PTO started partnering with Boosterthon (2018-2019), and eventually once the Donate Your Way at Rea View Fundraising Program (2019-2022) was created to give parents donation options.

When & Where Are the Program's Fundraisers Held?

Each school year, both fundraisers of the Donate Your Way at Rea View Fundraising Program are held in the fall. The Direct Give Campaign starts at Rea View's Open House in August and continues online through the PTO Website through September. Run with Rocky is a seven-to-eight-day program held in late October and/or early November. Run with Rocky events are held at the school, but donations are collected online at MyBooster.com.

The reason both fundraisers are held in the fall is so proceeds raised can be used as early as possible in the school year to support students and staff. If we were to wait until the winter or spring to hold one or both of the fundraisers, some students (especially 5th graders) and staff might never benefit from that year's donations.

The PTO understands that holding two fundraisers close together could be taxing for families. Donating at Rea View is optional, and families are certainly not expected to donate to both of the fundraisers. We want families to "Donate Their Way" to Rea View. (For more information see the "Are Families Required to Donate?" question below.)
