RVA Burlesque Festival Performer Expectations
-Performers will arrive on time to their assigned tech slot and performer call time and remain in a sober, stable state throughout the show
-Performers will be courteous backstage, in the dressing area, and the performance space. Performers will be responsible for their own messes, keeping items tidy and condensed in the dressing space to make room for everyone, and refrain from handling others’ belongings unless they are operating as a stagehand or have the consent of the performer.
-Performers will refrain from spraying fragrances in the backstage and dressing areas.
-Performers will not bring anyone not involved in the production into the private dressing space. If you need an assistant, the festival team must be given notice in advance.
-NO GLITTER only confetti is allowed on stage. The performer will notify the festival team of any confetti or other mess that will be made during an act on stage on the tech form.
-Performers understand that cancellation of a performance by the performer should be made with as much notice as possible.
-Performers will fill out the tech form with all requested and necessary information, music, and materials, by all given deadlines.
-Performers agree to not bring any outside alcohol to any venue.
-Performers will enter only the venue spaces that the production is granted access to use.
-There is a zero-tolerance policy for any form of bullying or harassment from anyone involved. This includes:
* No inappropriate or non-consensual physical contact;
* No unwelcome sexual advances or attention, whether indirect or explicit;
* No bullying, stalking, or following;
* No abusive or disrespectful language or physical conduct that reinforces social structures of domination related to race, place of origin, ancestry, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, mental or physical disability, body size, age, religion, family status, source of income, or beliefs.
