Lettering Policy

Ralston Valley HS Swimming/Diving Lettering Policy including guidelines from the JeffCo Schools Athletic Handbook:

• Attend 85% of practices

AND accomplish any or all of the following:

• Earn an average of at least four points (divers only two points) for each regularly scheduled varsity dual/tri/quad meets during the season

• Individually score in the top ten in a championship format invitational meet

• Be a member of a relay team that places in the top four of a championship format meet

• Participate in the state meet

Letters are awarded at the coach's discretion.

Meet Eligibility

If you miss a practice, your meet participation will decline. (For example if our meet is on Thursday and you miss Monday practice you will be eligible to swim 3, not 4 events.) Four LATE arrivals for practice is one absence.  

If you want to be a better swimmer show up.  Stay in bed if you have a fever.  Athletes need to be in school for 1/2 a day to participate in CHSAA athletics.  

I will work with club swimmer's coaches to figure out which practices will be with the RV swim team and which will be with the club team. I will verify attendance with club coaches. Attendance policies are the same for ALL swimmers.

Grades matter. One F and you are ineligible until the grade is improved.

In order to be eligible for the CO High School State Meet, swimmers must participate in at least 6 meets during the regular season.

All swimmers/divers will be held to the standards and rules signed to and referenced in the following registration paperwork as an RVHS athlete:

AND accomplish any or all of the following:

• Earn an average of at least four points (divers only two points) for each regularly scheduled varsity dual/tri/quad meets during the season

• Individually score in the top ten in a championship format invitational meet

• Have 11-dives and participate in League

• Participate in the state meet

* Seniors who particiated all 4 years

Letters are awarded at the coach's discretion.
