Being a Toastmasters member will help you reach your goals of improving your public speaking and leadership skills. There are a variety of items included at every meeting that allow members to practice prepared speeches, impromptu speaking, and leadership.
Here are some things that we recommend doing after attending your first meeting:
Our VP of Membership, Anton, is the main contact for new members. After every meeting, he is available to speak to you, answer any questions, and connect you with other members! You can also sign up for our email list through him.
This is the first prepared speech that every Toastmaster gives. This speech is all about you! You will give a 5-7 minute speech introducing yourself or about something important to you. At our club, you can give this speech before becoming an "official" paid member. If you need any assistance or have any questions, you can speak to Anton (our VP of Membership). Please email us at ru.toastmasters@gmail.com to let us know you will be giving your first speech and with any questions!
When you become an official member, you will be able to continue giving prepared speeches and gain access to Pathways! Pathways is Toastmaster's interactive and individualized education program. Members use Pathways to follow a learning path with speech and leadership projects tailored to their personal goals/interests. For more general info, you can view Pathways sections in the "Find Your Voice" pamphlet below to read more about it.
In order to become an official member, there is a subscription fee of $45 due every 6 months and a one-time new member fee of $20. Once you are ready to pay, you can reach out to Anton (our VP of Membership). He will process your payment, give you a tutorial of Pathways, and help you set up your Pathways account.
