Title: Lattice Extensions of Classical Schottky Groups

Speaker: Junzhi Huang, Yale

Abstract: In this talk, I will discuss a construction to realize a dense family of classical Schottky groups in Isom(H^n) as subgroups of lattices. This partially generalizes Brooks' theorem that any geometrically finite subgroup of Isom(H^3) can be perturbed to be contained in a lattice.  I will start by introducing an "inbreeding" technique by Agol, which is the origin of our construction, and talk about several applications. This is joint work with Matthew Zevenbergen.
