Title: Primitive Invariants from Laminations

Speaker: Veronica Pasquarella, SIMIS

Abstract: Combining geometric group theory techniques with geometric topology tools, we show how primitive cohomologies provide useful insights towards unifying the mathematical formulation of Gromov-Witten invariants. In particular, we emphasise the role played by geodesic laminations in analysing such invariants for the case of complete intersections in projective space. In conclusion, we will briefly mention possible applicability of our results within the context of hyperbolic 3-manifolds.
