If you'd like to use your Rutgers email on your phone, select Gmail as the account option.
Open Gmail.
Type in your email address in the format of "NetID@scarletmail.rutgers.edu".
This will open the Rutgers NetID portal. Sign in using your NetID and password.
Congrats! Now you have accessed your school email. Check this email periodically for announcements regarding Rutgers and from your professors as the fall semester approaches!
In any search engine, search for "NetID Rutgers". Click on the result that says "NetID Management".
On the left sidebar, click on the link that says "Manage Email Addresses". Sign in with your NetID and password.
If you have not activated your NetID yet, you must do so before getting your Rutgers Email.
You are creating an address for people to CONTACT you. They ask for your first and last name to make it easier for others to remember in the event that they need to reach you.
You can change this first.last@rutgers.edu to a nickname. If your friends know you by a nickname, you can give them one of your customized email addresses.
Make sure your full name is still one of the Personalized Addresses though.
You may choose where your Rutgers emails go. Therefore, if you prefer to have them be sent to your personal email to have everything in one place, input your personal email address here.
IMPORTANT: if you wish to sign in to your Rutgers Email, the NetID@scarletmail.rutgers.edu should be typed into Gmail.
It should then prompt you to sign into the Rutgers portal with your NetID and password.
Please try to use the Personalized Address with your full name here. This will appear in the Rutgers Directory as the email you want people to contact you by.
Some people that may use the Rutgers Directory to contact you might include professors, Rutgers themselves, or peers looking to ask you a question.
