I adopted Watson (officially, "Dogtor Watson") from the Novato Animal Shelter in the summer of 2018. I was living out of my car, driving up and down the coast, visiting friends and family and staying in motels/hotels. It wasn't the ideal time to get a dog. But Watson, it turned out, was the ideal dog!
THE WATSON PODCAST...
Watch my most recent podcast where I got to praise Watson. He was such a devoted dog and interesting personality that he deserved to have a podcast episode devoted to him!

By day 2, Watson and I were bonding. Watson is a funny dog and he's so mellow. I sometimes had to leave him in the car for hours and he'd just nap and guard the vehicle.
A couple of days after I got Watson, we took a trip to Siskiyou County, CA. I was hoping Watson would swim across Kangaroo Lake with me. But Watson doesn't swim. He doesn't feel that he can protect me in the water so he won't let me swim either. Watson just barked his strange bark when he's in distress. A bark with no sound, just a little air.
We spent a few weeks camping We also made trips to San Francisco, Half Moon Bay, Santa Cruz, San Luis Obispo, Morro Bay, Stockton, Medford (OR), Klamath Falls (OR) and Ashland (OR).
Watson kept up with his stretches, even on vacation.
Watson rarely posed for the camera, but he was always portrait-ready.
Watson turned himself into a dog taco at the motel one cold night.
In the spring of 2019, I rented an excavator and remove the barriers that our criminal neighbors, Don Phelps and Dan Deppen, put in the driveway to my family's cabin property in Etna, CA so Watson and I could live on the property, rehabilitate the cabin and build a home on the property. Our criminal neighbors destroyed the road again three days later, trapping Watson and me on our land for about two months.
Watson's favorite activity was chasing the bears!
Once, Watson went naughty doggin' and found himself a mudhole.
City dog, Watson, discovers he loves playing in the snow!
This podcast episode is entirely devoted to telling Watson's story. Watson was a hero of a dog! He was also a sweet, good-natured dog and a great companion.
