Interested parents and guardians must complete a SEPAC Membership Application, which covers experience, interest in special education, and willingness to fulfill membership responsibilities. Applications are reviewed by district representatives and the SEPAC Chairs to ensure balanced representation across all schools in the district.

Parent participation is an important part of SEPAC’s success. No, SEPAC is a district-level council, independent of the PTSA. However, RUHS SEPAC collaborates closely with the RUHS PTSA to ensure students with IEPs are fully included in PTSA events and activities.

Do IEPs transfer to college?
Not automatically. An IEP ends upon high school graduation, but some colleges offer disability support services. Students need to apply through the college and provide supporting documentation, such as their IEP, to prove eligibility. Depending on qualification, students can receive accommodations like extended testing time or note-taking support. Check the college's website under Student Resources or Accessibility Services for specific submission guidelines.
