This is a mountain run with uneven footing and lots of elevation change. There are sections where you may be miles from help if something goes wrong. You should not attempt this event without adequate training.
Navigation
We strongly encourage you to download the OnX Backcountry app onto your smartphone if you have one. This app uses your phone's GPS to show you exactly where you are on the DMRA property.
Course Marking
The course will be marked with purple survey flags approximately every 1/4 mile. Critical intersections will be marked with signage.
Here are the routes for the 2025 edition. Please disregard the elevation change stated by Strava for each route. They are way off. Below is a more accurate measurement of each course:
50K
~31 miles
~5,700 feet elevation gain
11 hour cutoff
The 50K consists of 2 loops. Runners will run the 25K loop twice.
25K
~15.5 miles
~2,850 feet elevation gain
8 hour cutoff
13K
~8.5 miles
~2,000 feet elevation gain
7 hour cutoff
Drop bags are allowed for 50K runners. Please limit drop bags to a 2-gallon ziploc or a bag of similar size. There will be an area at the Start/Finish on race morning for drop bags. 50K runners may access their drop bags before beginning the second loop.
