Muk grew up as the local idiot and outcast in his own village in the Dessarin Hills, Faerun. A product of rape, his orcish heritage reminded his family too much of the violence they endured, so he was eventually outcast when old enough to fend for himself. He made friends with a gnomish anthropologist and naturalist named Cargo Fizzleberry (a strange Druid/Wizard combination). Cargo gave muk a small stone carved bear which he would use to communicate with him telepathically on occasion. Muk never knew the command word, so he would wait for Cargo to message him. Muk was also given a magical spice bag from the tribe's shaman, to help preserve his food. "The spice extends life!!" he cryptically said. Muk found refuge in a bear cave after defeating it's inhabitant, and there he stayed until one day, after not hearing from Cargo for several days, he sought him out at the village. The village had been raided by orcs and everyone was dead. Cargo was nowhere to be seen. He tracked the orcs and attacked them while they were fighting a few elves. He quickly made friends with the elves, Cyte and Meira, who took him into their group. Later he met Flamethistle and another Halfling named Pannan, and they had some adventures. They are the family he never had, and he felt accepted for the first time in his life.
Muk recently got whisked away to Golarion when one of Flamethistle's spells went awry (as they often do). He and Flamethistle have been in this small town of Sandpoint for a few months, having failed to find a way home yet. He has a regular job at the Hagfish and tries not to let the open racism, especially from the Shoanti, get to him. He's eager to prove himself, and misses his old friends terribly.
