REGISTRATION

The 29th Conference on Research on Undergraduate Mathematics Education is pleased to offer its full program both in-person and virtually.

All in-person attendees will have full access to the virtual space, and can attend talks virtually and interact with virtual attendees if they wish.
Virtual attendees have full access to the entire conference program except for in-person poster session(s) and round tables.

Key registration dates (see Important Dates for more):

The last day for early-bird registration pricing is January 8.
At least one author for every paper and poster must be registered by January 22.
The last day to register for in-person conference attendance is February 5 (unless we sell out beforehand)
Registration for virtual conference attendance is available until February 26 (after Feb 19 there may be delays)

Pricing

We were forced to increase registration fees to cover the rising costs of goods and services. We prioritized keeping the conference accessible to virtual attendees and students, thus only increasing virtual registration by $10 and all student in-person registrations by at most 7% compared to last year; non-student in-person registrations increased by at most 13%.

RUME is functionally a "no-sponsor" conference and so all costs must be covered through registration fees. Primary conference costs are meals (approx $450/person) and AV (approx $52K total); we incur processing and administrative fees for every transaction. There are additional costs associated with printing badges, signage, etc. Total costs and final revenue/deficit will be presented after the conference at the annual SIGMAA RUME business meeting.

Scholarships

As part of the registration process you will have the opportunity to make a donation to the RUME scholarship fund. This fund helps cover the cost of attendance for students without sufficient travel funds from their departments. It is the intention of the RUME Executive Committee to support as many students as possible who do not have institutional travel/conference support. There will be a prioritization of students who are presenting papers or posters.

We are currently working on ways to make a donation separately from registration, and how scholarship support will work. In previous years, this has been in the form of either a partial refund to the registration cost, or a complimentary hotel night on your reservation.
