1. ADP is nothing more than a guide, after a certain point in your draft it is nothing more than a fallacy sold to you by the Fantasy deep state.
2. As a caveat to rule one, don't reach! At a certain point know when you being too bullish on a player.
3. BE WATER MY FRIEND! While it sucks to get sniped, sometimes the universe has something better in store for your fantasy team.
4. "Practice we're talking about practice" -Allen Iverson. Before you draft mock and mock again. Try constructing different rosters allowing rule 3 to flow more naturally because you'll have a plan in different scenarios!
5. Know your league scoring and roster settings! This dictates the ADP thus helping you navigate the market.
6. Know your opponents, and if you're new to a league, study your league mates! Knowing their tendencies, favorite teams, players, even hobbies and interest can be valuable pieces of information while drafting or in trade negotiations.
7. Know when to let go! Don't roster a player longer than needed because of emotional attachment! Trade or drop to waivers but don't waste a roster spot on someone not performing or not coming back in time from injury/suspension.
8. If you drink and draft pace yourself! You got a championship to win so stay focused but have fun and stay loose!
9. Don't ever go homer! The quickest way to automatically miss the playoffs and become a weekly W for everyone else in the league is to draft every player you possibly can from your favorite NFL team! "Diversify your bonds" -Dave Chappelle
10. Don't over value or under value your players when engaging in trades! Yes you'll need to trade at some point, this is a brutal game and players get injured or either don't perform the way you may have thought. Either win the trade or do good business but don't lose the trade!
11. PAY ATTENTION TO THE WAVIER WIRE! Trades don't go your way be ready to pivot!
12. Sometimes the best handcuff when a player is injured is the handcuff of thy enemy. If both you and someone else in your league are facing injury and you know their backup is a better backup than yours then go and get theirs. All is fair in love and fantasy.
12. Have thick skin and stay active! Your ability to demonstrate wits in what we call " The Art of talking shit" while also showing football knowledge will keep your league interesting and fun just don't cross the line. Nobody likes that guy. Plus you don't wanna make enemies when you'll need to negotiate.
13. DON'T COLLUDE! Whether you play for fun, for charity, of for money DON'T EVER CHEAT! This can be anything from intentionally throwing match, benching obvious starters, trade manipulation and other activity deemed cheating by your commissioner and league bylaws.
14. When drafting have a concept of a strategy but don't automatically stick to it. If you like Hero RB do that, late QB fine, the classic BPA Best Player Available not my style but do you. The point is don't be upset when you walk away 0-4 through the first 4 weeks of football because you decided to draft 4 great RBs first 4 picks and have dog shit WRs and have to decimate your team in order to fix your mistakes.
15. Volume is king! Whether you watch film or stare at stats target players that get opportunities! More opportunity mixed them having a good game or a consistent season means more probability of you winning week in and week out. Chase volume mixed with consistency!
16. Draft players on good offenses! While this sounds obvious it's not that easy not that simple. There are 32 teams in the NFL and you plus your league mates are drafting players from all these teams at some point your gonna be faced with drafting a Brown, Titan, Panther etc. (No offense to those fanbases or players)
17. Manage your bye weeks best as you can! Try not to end up with too many players with same bye on your team at once.
18. Having a stack is great (QB-WR, QB-TE, QB-RB etc) just don't live and die by the stack. Also don't go crazy! 2 is perfect no more than 3 players from 1 team and not your favorite team! *See rule 9*
19. Bad games and injuries are gonna happen don't crashout and DM players, again nobody likes those guys and you make the fantasy community have a bad reputation.
20. You can't predict every outcome. But week to week stay updated on NFL news with the Rumboyz Fantasy Network on YouTube and social media. Not just a shameless plug. But having a source that's going to keep it straight with you about your Fantasy Football team and interact with you is actually paramount. Talking it up with your league group chat they'll have you starting the wrong players to help them. Injury Reports, weather, NFL news, when a player crashes out we got you covered! 😂
