Example Applications

Three typical examples of requests received by Rufus’ Friends’ Fund are:

a) Social Services requesting money on behalf of a family to pay for a week’s holiday in a specially adapted caravan which caters for a member of the family with learning difficulties. The family will most likely not have been on a holiday for a long while and certainly would not be able to afford the trip.

b) Social Services requesting money on behalf of a single mother to pay for respite care for an hour a week for a dependant who has learning difficulties so she can have some time to complete chores or visit relatives.

c) A Special School requesting money on behalf of a pupil whose family cannot afford to send them on the school’s annual trip which will provide the family with a break, and make sure the child does not miss out on a rewarding experience afforded to his or her friends.
