About Me

I am a professor of theoretical physics at the Department of Theoretical Physics of the Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ).

My field of work is on particle cosmology -- the branch of physics that studies the fundamental phenomena of the very small (particle physics) and the very large (the universe).

I lecture both undergraduate and graduate courses at UERJ and also supervise students in all levels of research.

I got my degree in Physics (B.Sc.) at the University of Sao Paulo in 1986, the master degree (M.Sc.) in 1989 and the doctor degree (Ph.D.) in 1992, both also at the University of Sao Paulo. I was a postdoctoral fellow (1992-1994) at Dartmouth College and then a visiting professor again at Dartmouth College (2000-2001), at the University of Edinburgh (2009) and at the McGill University (2017).

I am a Researcher (level 1B) of the National Research Council of Brazil - CNPq and a Scientist "Cientista do Nosso Estado" of the Rio de Janeiro State Research Founding Agency - FAPERJ
