Taylor hawkins is my favourite drummer of all time, his technique is like no other and when you realise who his drumming idols were you can see what parts of those drummers have influenced him. His influences are Roger Taylor, Neil Peart and Stewart Copeland. With multiple crash symbols comes to mind, Roger Taylor having crashes above one another and their drum solos are quite similar, and for Neil Peart and Stewart Copeland having multiple toms is another comparison to Taylor Hawkins. Taylor has so much passion for music on any instrument. His 3 bands - Foo Fighters where he sings on Cold Day In The Sun and Sunday Rain, then his cover band Chevy Metal, and Taylor hawkins and the Coattail Riders. He loves to sing which he's great at, he also loves to cover Under Pressure by Queen with The Foo Fighters.
Roger Taylor is the first drummer that I was influenced by. He's such a cool drummer with his solos and and the occasional gong with crashes placed everywhere in a Queen song no matter if it's a rock, disco or prog rock. He's still playing with Brian May of Queen and Adam Lambert, Queen are still there but no more flare without Freddie. I see how Taylor loved Roger so much so that Taylor became Roger's sons god father.
Dave Grohl - the drummer for Scream, Nirvana and sometimes Foo Fighters, got off the drums for his band Foo Fighters where he became lead vocalist. Dave then found the best drummer in the world - Taylor Hawkins. When Dave played drums for Scream and Nirvana, he was the heaviest hitter which I think alot of drummers love doing, he can play almost anything and can play the most of simple drums to the most complex, thats impressive from starting on pillows.
