Ruby Singha is a soulful singer, evocative lyricist and gifted music composer whose artistry is deeply rooted in the cultural heritage of Assam. Born into a family where music was more than tradition—it was legacy—Ruby began her musical journey under the guidance of her mother Prafullabala Barua, the lead vocalist of Bishnu Rabha’s renowned music group. This early exposure to Assam’s rich musical tapestry shaped her sensibilities and ignited a lifelong passion.

At just 16, Ruby Singha penned her first song, marking the beginning of a creative path that would intertwine melody with meaning. Her journey flourished alongside her husband, Ajit Singha, a celebrated music director of Assam, with whom she collaborated to bring heartfelt compositions to life.

Ruby Singha inherited her musical soul from her mother Prafullabala Barua — a legacy now carried forward by her daughter Sangita and granddaughter Shraddha. Four generations, one harmonious journey.
