Hi, My name is Joshua Eigenberg, and I, like Jerome am a Speedcuber. I can solve just about every WCA event, average about 24 seconds on the 3x3 cube, and have been cubing since January of 2018.
I got my first cube when I was 6 years old, and having somehow messed it up, it got put in a drawer and sat for several years.
For Christmas of 2017, my godparents gave me a 2x2 cube, which I thought was really cool, and accidentally messed it up. It then almost got thrown in the same drawer as the 3x3 for the same amount of time. Except that didn't happen.
At dinner on the day before new year's eve, the subject of the cube miraculously popped up, and I went to the drawer, and decided that I was going to solve both of them before the new year hit.
The next day, I sat down, and while watching a really bad tutorial, spent an hour and a half just solving the 2x2. While I did not get the 3x3 done, I got that done a few days later, and then spent the next 3 weeks getting the formula down.
Since then I have been to 3 competitions, competed in 2 of them, and have gone as far as solving the 2x2 blindfolded, as a gateway to the concepts of 3 blind, and starting a YouTube Channel, The Farming Cuber.
I had kind of known Jerome from J.H. Band, but never really talked to him that much. One day at one of the homecoming activities, I showed Jerome the cube, and how I could solve it. A few days later, he came to school with a cube already knowing how to solve the first two layers. I was amazed at how little time it took him. The next day, he could do the whole thing.
