The windmill cube, when solved, looks like a cube. It is a harder cube to solve because it is a shape changer.
This mode is why this cube is called the windmill cube. To get this pattern, you just do the algorithm to get the 3 by 3 checkerboard. Go to the patterns page to see.
This is an intimating looking puzzle. It is not a beginner cube. To add to that, it has different names of pieces that you wouldn't expect. (See pieces section)
On Amazon, a stickerless speed cube is $7.99. You would want one with no stickers because after a while the stickers may start to peel. TAKE NOTE: The cube shown is not stickerless. Don't get a cube like that. For an example of a stickerless cube, go to the 5 by 5 or master pyraminx page.
The pieces are like the fisher. The white center is the diamond/square in the middle. The edges on the white are the 4 sided, slanted shapes. The piece with the w on it in the picture shown is an edge. The corners are the triangles on the white side. The center on the green side is the big rectangle in the middle layer.
The first step in solving it is to solve the white side and first layer. The second step is to solve the second layer. The third step is to make the yellow cross. The fourth step is to position the cross pieces correctly. Next, you position the rest of the yellow side. Lastly, you twist the last part of the yellow side. As you can see, these are the same steps as the 3 by 3.
