Self Directed Learning
Description
Self-directed learning is a learning method whereby the student takes initiative for learning. This includes activities such as selecting, managing, and assessing their own learning activities. Teachers provide advice, direction, and resources to support the student while peers provide collaboration.
The steps of self directed learning are;
Monitor your learning process
Take initiative for all stages of learning process be self motivated
Re evaluate and alter goals
Feelings
I was very tired and could not indulge myself into the discussion but it got really interesting. The process of learning can really effect our lives. Demonstrator asked us questions to make the session interactive.
Evaluation
The lecture was really inspiring and t enlightened me of many strategies that i can use for self learning, and overcome my weakness. I became aware of many drawbacks which I did not know before.
Analysis
This lecture taught us about how to use our knowledge and information that we have gained in the past or present and create something out of it. It engages you in activities that are intresting and fun. This can lead to a greater retention of information.
Conclusion
The conclusion of the lecture was that we should me more concerned about the ways we learn different things as it has a greater impact in retaining the information. In MBBS self directed learning is definitely something we should opt for.
