August 10th 2022: For my students... (Ellen)
I mentioned in my -about me- section I do a lot of teaching as a part-time job throughout my studying. A lot of my students are actually located in Calgary. It’s amazing that I can reach students so far from where I actually am but at the same time it leaves a smaller opportunity to ever meet them in person. My mom needed to go to Calgary recently for work and I thought that was a perfect opportunity to ask her to deliver something to the students! I made them each a card with a little blurb inside for them and a small pack of our stickers! Each kid got stickers I thought they would love! Some lucky ones even got stickers that looked like their pets (a student of mine had a black and white cat that looked just like our black and white cat sticker!)
I thought it was a really fun to thing to make and I’m sure that the students will love them.
If you want to recreate this - what you’ll need is:
- Cardstock (I used cream-coloured 110llb from Staples)
- Paper Cutter (Optional)
- Black pen
- Calligraphy Pen (Optional, can use marker)
- Stapler
- Plastic Bags (I used small clear craft bags I picked up from my local Dollarama)
- Stickers! (You can make your own or purchase some from our shop 😊)
What I do is take a normal 8.5 x 11 inch cardstock paper and cut it in horizontally.
Then I fold the pieces together in half!
Cut!
Then I added a small sticker to the front by their name for a little extra decoration!
Then I fold the pieces together in half!
I had 2 students I was putting their cards in an envelope and on the fronts I added a small sticker with their name and it turned out super cute!
I used a Tombow calligraphy brush to write their names (I started off doing calligraphy but moved onto large letters)
I used a muji pen inside to write a small blurb to them.
You can give these to your students, party favours, classmates, and friends as a homemade gift guaranteed to make them smile!
