My grad hehe
Hello! My name is Rachel and here's a little introduction about me! Small town girl that graduated from Nanotechnology Engineering and will be full-time working as a Software Engineering in the Bay Area. This little r.t.ist all started with my Instagram because I wanted a place to dump all of my art into and then I thought why not try this little small business out? I'm still figuring out how everything works and my art style, but I'm getting there! Be patient with me and it'll be sooooo worth it!
Left or Right Brain? Honestly I'm not so sure... I've always loved the arts no matter what it is and never stopped drawing even in University when I was constantly rushing to hand things in. At the same time, I've played chess since I was 6 and am currently holding a Woman's Candidate Master (WCM) title from my chess career. Then I retired the life of competitive chess to take the engineering route for post-secondary. So who knows what this brain is (shrugs)...
Let's get started with stickers, notebooks, recipe books, paintings, and hopefully children's books very soon!
A little bit about me is I’m starting my second year of Electrical Engineering in the Fall. Student by day but a teacher by night, I also have students from all over Canada learning English, math, and chess! I also am fond of my artistic side too, though I haven’t reached the level of card-making expertise as Rachel, I love making cards for my friends to commemorate any occasion. **Insert jasmines Card**
I love reading yet I haven’t really been able to figure out how to choose books over Netflix all that well lately. My favourite author of all time has got to be Cassandra Clare and my comfort show is B99, I swear I’m on my 11th rewatch at this point.
A fun fact about me is even though I was a reading machine throughout grade school I never picked up Harry Potter until Grade 11. I tried reading it when I was younger but after seeing my parents watching the Goblet of Fire movie and walking in on the scene where Voldemort is going in for the kill against Harry I was terrified and disgusted by any thought of reading the series. I only picked it up because my friend was so shocked I hadn’t read it, we made a deal that she would read my favourite series in exchange for hers- Harry Potter. Wow did I miss out on something great, now there lives a permanent spot on my car keys for Hermione and Crookshanks. (P.s. I chose for her to read The Mortal Instruments series and its safe to say she did not have the same reaction as me hah.)
I had a really fun time watching these stickers go from a rough idea to a sketch, and finally into the finished product you see today! I really hope you can pick one up and enjoy it as much as we did making them!
I live rent free at their family home and I'm extremely photogenic. Okay that's it, bye, before I take too much of the spotlight from these two!
