Ibu Vella (El Hawa)

Ibu Vella is the manager and frontwoman of El Hawa, a Semarang-based qasidah band. Vella is the sister of Nasida Ria manager, Hj. Choliq Zain, and grew up surrounded by music and quranic recitation. She takes full charge of her group's image and message, prefering a more popularized style than Nasida Ria. El Hawa performs more dangdut and Arabic pop than Nasida Ria, but they still hold dakwah as their primary mission, again stressing that beautiful women make excellent messengers for religion.
