The Reliability and Sustainable Energy Research Group at the University of Bradford is a dynamic and interdisciplinary team within the School of Engineering and Computing. The group is dedicated to advancing research and innovation in the fields of renewable energy systems, reliability engineering, and sustainable technologies. Its mission is to contribute to the global energy transition by addressing critical challenges related to climate change, clean growth, and energy resilience.

The group is led by Dr Cuong Dao and a number of experts. The group focuses on a wide range of research areas, including:

• Reliability analysis and maintenance management 

• Digital modelling and intelligent simulation 

• Control and planning of renewable energy systems

• Optimisation and lifecycle management 

• Integration of AI and big data 

The group actively collaborates with academic and industry partners and engages in applied research projects across the UK, EU and across the world, ensuring that academic insights translate into real-world impact. It also plays a key role in delivering the MSc programme in Renewable and Sustainable Energy, which trains future engineers to lead the global energy transformation.
