Where did you grew up? Seoul, South Korea
Where did you go to school? Ewha Women University, Seoul, South Korea for my teaching B.A. degree and Virginia Tech for my Master’s degree in School Counseling
How long have you worked for FCPS? This is my 17th year at FCPS
What are your favorite self-care activities? Hiking, Kayaking, Golfing and Traveling
What would you sing at karaoke night? Living on a prayer
What is your favorite thing about your career? Collaborating with awesome educators in the building and helping our students to be successful at Rocky Run MS

Where did you grew up? Fairfax, VA
Where did you go to school? GBE, Lanier and Fairfax HS! And then Mary Washington University and then George Washington University
How long have you worked for FCPS? 7 years
What are your favorite self-care activities? Crafts, DIY manicures, snacks
What would you sing at karaoke night? Anything BSB! (Not necessarily a superfan but so fun for karaoke)
What is your favorite thing about your career? Before I switched careers I started everyday with dread. Now I come to work excited to work with students, families and colleagues!

Caitlin Ivey, School Counselor

Where did you grew up? New Milford, Connecticut
Where did you go to school? Undergraduate was at Western CT State University and my Master of Counseling program was at Central CT State University.
How long have you worked for FCPS? This will be my 8th year in FCPS.
What are your favorite self-care activities? I love to exercise! Hiking, walking, yoga, swimming, I particularly love winter sports! I also really like to spend time with my family and travel. I practice mindfulness and appreciate a nice spa day from time to time.
What would you sing at karaoke night? Whitney Houston "I wanna dance with somebody".
What is your favorite thing about your career? Spending day in and day out with students! I love talking to kids about what is going on with them and the life experiences they have had thus far. I learn something new everyday from them and enjoy instilling my love of learning in them as well.

Mohammad Zishhan, School Counselor

Where did you grew up? Annandale, VA
Where did you go to school? Woodson HS, UVA – two degrees in sciences and then Marymount University for Masters in Counseling
How long have you worked for FCPS? 11 years
What are your favorite self-care activities? Practicing compassion, forgiveness and gratitude
What would you sing at karaoke night? Journey’s ‘Don’t Stop, Believing!’ Hold on to the feeellliinnngggg, yeaaah!
What is your favorite thing about your career? Helping people, and connecting with kids. It’s great to be able to help when someone is having a rough time, but it is also pretty awesome to connect with kids and help them find their passion and confidence.

Mary Wescott, LCSW/School Social Worker

Where did you grow up? I’m a native of the DMV and was born and raised in the City of Alexandria
Where did you go to school? I graduated from T.C. Williams High School. I started my undergraduate degree at VA Tech then mid-way through transferred universities and earned a Bachelor of Science in Social Psychology from George Mason University (GMU). I received my Master’s Degree (MSW) in Clinical Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU)
How long have you worked for FCPS? Since 2003
What are your favorite self-care activities? Traveling (and snorkeling) when possible and spending time with family and friends engaged in laughter. I enjoy exploring various cuisines and experimenting in the kitchen. Cooking is very therapeutic for me. I love to read, listen to music, dance, spend time in nature, meditate, take photos, and tinker around the house with home improvements including interior design.
What would you sing at karaoke night? I can’t really decide. I enjoy so many genres of music.
What is your favorite thing about your career? The students, of course! I’ll never stop learning as each child I encounter enlightens me as a professional and person….and brings me joy to also support and empower.
