Tie A Tie

12/06/21

What I have learned on the Tie-A-Tie activity was as the name suggests we learned how to tie a tie, I had no idea how to do one to begin with, I only knew how to tie a bow-tie out of a regular tie. We have also learned that the reason for a tie is formality and professionalism, the significance of the tie is to show your employer that you are mature and ready to work for your company, I for one didn't know a double knot tie existed in the first place. I have also learned that polyester is more harder to do than silk material, speaking from experience of course, for it was a pain to tie the polyester tie.

Telephone Skills

November,2021

What we did was to call hotels and see how their front-desks would respond to us, we would then evaluate their performances on how well they responded to our questions. Not only that we got to also practice ourselves, I for one felt my heart racing when I heard the 2nd ring, and when I answered it and said all I need to say, I said it to fast and Mr. Chong corrected me on that mistake. I did find the mirror technique, which is to look at the mirror or your phone's camera and smile to it, very useful and found it easier to communicate through the phone.

CTE Presentation

10/21/21

Thank you for that presentation, to be honest I didn't think that there would be a lot of information, but then again I didn't expect 4 college programs. The WE program is one that stood out to me because it introduced the idea of internship, and we can only get into that based on our skill set, maturity, grades, attendance and citizenship. Another one you mentioned was the one of the programs which is the CLYMER Program, which is basically you get A's in a certain subject and you can show it to them to have college level work. I certainly liked how you engaged with the class by using students as examples, especially me, which also made me focus more due to the fact my name was always brought out. Once again I would thank Ms. Oliveros for presenting and teaching us the CTE Program.
