Preface

- There is no abstract, keywords or received or accepted dates.
- Prefaces do not normally have a reference list; however, should a reference be cited a list should be placed as usual.
Introduction
Introduction
- An Introduction and/or Preface is required for all Discussion Meeting and Theme Issues in Trans A and Trans B.
- Introductions do not need to have abstracts or keywords (unless explicitly requested). If they do, the paper is set in the same style as a research article.
- Cross-references to papers in the same issue should be referenced fully in the Reference list.

- Are not subject to page charges in Proc A/B
- Free colour in Interface.
Comment/Invited reply
Comment/Invited reply
- Comments and Invited replies do not have abstracts or keywords (unless explicitly requested)
- Received/Accepted dates should be included
- Cross-references to the original paper and the Comment OR Reply paper (ideally in the same issue) should be fully referenced in the Reference list
- Equations that appear in Comment papers, where there are no headings, should be numbered consecutively, e.g. (1), (2), etc.
- A footnote should be inserted to indicate where the Reply to the Comment is be located:
"The accompanying Reply can be viewed at http://dx.doi.org/doi:10.1098/[comment/reply doi]."
Commentary
Commentary
- A commentary is a specific discussion about a paper within an issue of Proc B.
- Commentaries should be set in the same style as Comments/Invited replies.
Correction
Correction
- A correction is always tagged as such, i.e. do not title these as errata/corrigenda.
- The title should be "Correction to '[original article title]'".
- They have unique DOI like other article types.
- Corrections do not have abstracts, keywords or accepted dates.
- If the correction relates to the title, the original title must be included in the title of the correction, and the new title given in the text.
- The authorship of the correction does not need to match the original article.
Retraction

- Retractions have a unique DOI like other articles
- The retraction must be signed by one of the following: the author, the author's legal counsel, the author's sponsoring institution, or the editor of the journal.
- Techset will need to add the retraction to the end of the PDF of the original article, as well as applying a 'retracted' watermark across the original PDF.
