Henry Heights Elementary hosted a family math night featuring Rowdy's Math Rodeo. Approximately 50 students in grades K-5 attended the event. We premiered two new elementary-specific activities: Base-10 Blocks and Geoboards. Thank you to our volunteers! DMS Faculty: Haile Gilroy, Jenna Hacker, Jennifer Melancon, and Mario Gonzalez. Fort Polk Child & Youth Services is an after-school program for students attending on-base schools at Fort Polk, Louisiana. Approximately 50 students in grades K-5 attended the event. LA Region V Science Fair | February 13, 2025
Our first-ever Rodeo featured origami fidget toys and models, The Bridges of Konigsberg, The Genius Star (a spatial reasoning board game), Brain Teasers, and Combinatorial Designs. Over 160 local students in grades 4-12 participated in this year's regional science fair. Thank you to our volunteers! DMS Faculty: Haile Gilroy, Jenna Hacker, Lyle Hardee, and Karen Aucoin.
